But where does this sudden passion of TikTokers for toast come from?! With millions of likes on social networks, recipes based on bread crumbs are having their glorious time Or, with eggs and avocado toast (Grated Egg Avocado Toast) – not very green – we like the famous Toast yogurt, the new breakfast favorite. Within weeks, recipe videos posted under this hashtag accumulated over 23 million views, endlessly re-watched by users of the platform.
The dish in question has the taste of being simple and gourmet at the same time, vaguely evoking the flavor of French toast, in a less pasty and more consistent version. And contrary to what its name implies, it’s not about spreading yogurt on a piece of toast! The idea is to make a rather thin layer Custard (custard), to be cooked on bread so that it takes on the texture of a cake.
To make it, all you need is some yogurt, an egg, cinnamon and honey, as well as seasonal fruits. To try the original version decorated with blueberries, we have to wait until summer or use frozen fruit (that works too). Several versions of this have appeared on TikTok: culinary influencer Caitlin Shoemaker (aka Fromibole) notably used grape slices, while TikToker WellnessWhispers tested a version with cocoa. Many popular videos, such as influencers Feel Good Foodie and Vivienne Cafe, however, are basic versions with as few elements as possible.

Basic recipe
Based on Vivianne Café and Feel Good Fodie’s Tik Tok videos.
Ingredients:
- 2 medium-thick toasts (whole or white)
- 60 grams of Greek or whole yogurt
- 1 whole egg or 2 egg whites
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- A pinch of cinnamon
Fruit of your choice (small slices if possible. Red fruit is best, perhaps a frozen version when they’re not in season). Chocolate chips can also do the trick.
Preparation:
Preheat your oven to 190 degrees.
Using the back of a spoon, press lightly on the bread to flatten it slightly. This will allow the cream to spread more easily.
Combine yogurt, eggs, maple syrup, and cinnamon, then mix well. Pour or spread this mixture on two of your toasts.
Then arrange some fruit, then bake for 10 minutes. It is necessary that the edges of the layer of cream become a little golden and it sticks to the bread.
When the toasts come out of the oven, feel free to drizzle more maple syrup or honey on them or sprinkle with a little powdered sugar. Must be eaten hot.
Enjoy your lunch!
