A life-size Christmas village is coming to Charleroi this winter

We’re only at the beginning of November, dead leaves still cover our damp floors but Christmas preparations are already underway. In Charleroi, we have been preparing for weeks, even months. Nathan Loriala, co-creator of the BAD Festival (for Bouff and Drink), and his team are actually working to make sure everything is in place to see the birth of a real Christmas village in the former industrial area by December 9. Now revived. After the success of the previous editions, which saw less than 75,000 visitors, this giant food court, initially launched in summer, now has its winter edition for the second year in a row to the delight of holiday lovers.

In the video, 5 Christmas gifts from around the world:

A tasteful Christmas tour of the world

The 2500 m2 that hosts dozens of food trucks will immerse us in a world full of magic by lighting up their most beautiful clothes. Each stand will offer recipes from Mexican cuisine to Thai, French, Italian or typically Belgian dishes, but for Christmas, this gastronomic world tour will allow us to discover Christmas recipes specific to each country. In addition to the essential raclettes, tartiflettes, roasted Camemberts, raclette burgers, cheese croquettes and mulled wine, you will be able to taste Christmas specialties unknown to us and revisited with Belgian sauce. For example, you can taste panzerotti stuffed with porchetta and a typical Italian hard fat cheese, or even baos upgraded for the occasion with festive ingredients like foie gras. On the drinks side, Nathan promises us an extensive archi menu, including the unexpected “decorated apple juice”, which was a real hit in the previous edition. “It’s a hot apple juice to which we add an alcohol. We have 8 different mulled wine cocktails”.

Honorable guests

As we told you, the Bud Festival in its winter edition has transformed into a real Christmas village. While gourmands will find plenty to satisfy their taste buds, others will not be left out. On the first weekend of this event, from December 9 to 11, Christmas films will be shown on a giant screen in association with Quai10 Cinema. Rest assured that more careful, mulled wine, heaters, throws will keep you warm. And to add an even warmer atmosphere, real campfires will be scattered throughout the site: “We leave the festival feeling like a fire, but it’s also a bad winter festival atmosphere!” Nathan is delighted.

Finally, Last but not least, for a more family-friendly edition than this previous edition, guests of honor will be in attendance Starting with the youngest winner of Best Pastry Chef Season 10, Maude. She will be making Christmas cakes during a live cooking session and will be joined by two former contestants from the show, Alexander and Nicholas.

Fortunately, we don’t just eat at the BaD festival, so many activities are planned for these two weekends. This summer, Candlelight Candlelight Concerts enchanted the venue for an evening. During this time, traveling groups will animate the four corners of the site. So no fixed stage, but a magical atmosphere is ensured throughout the festival, Nathan once again assured us. For the little ones, a children’s cinema will be installed, and Christmas-themed video games will also be available In short, we can expect some nice surprises as the organizers tell us.
